The project to build a new lock chamber at Emsworth Dam on the Ohio River received an additional $77 million in Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) supplemental funding, the Pittsburgh Engineer District announced March 29. WebJul 28, 2024 · The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District reports that Emsworth Lock and Dam, located on the Ohio River at mile 6.2, is to initiate a closure of the primary lock chamber for scheduled repairs. The lock chamber closure is expected to start Monday, Aug. 31 at 6 a.m. and the chamber will remain closed until Friday, Nov. 13 at 11:59 p.m.
